Grid-based Genetic Operators for Graphical Layout Generation

چکیده

Graphical user interfaces (GUIs) have gained primacy among the means of interacting with computing systems, thanks to way they leverage human perceptual and motor capabilities. However, design GUIs has mostly been a manual activity. To GUI, designer must select its visual, spatial, textual, interaction properties such that combination strikes balance relevant factors. While emerging computational-design techniques addressed some problems related grid layouts, no general approach proposed can also produce good complete results covering color-related decisions other nonlinear objectives. Evolutionary algorithms are promising demonstrate handling similar in conditions, genetic operators, depending on how designed. But even these approaches struggle elements' overlap hence too many infeasible candidate solutions. This paper presents new based grid-based operators demonstrated non-dominated sorting algorithm (NSGA-III) setting. The use lines for element positions novel manner satisfy overlap-related constraints intrinsically improve alignment elements. be used crossovers mutations. Its core benefit is all solutions generated no-overlap requirement represent well-formed layouts. permit using increasingly realistic task instances, responding more objectives than could considered before. Specifically, we address quality, alignment, selection time, clutter minimization, saliency control, color harmony, grouping

Geometric Layout Based Graphical Model for Multi-Part Object Tracking

This work puts forth a probabilistic graphical framework to track unoccluded objects undergoing large out of image plane rotations and/or presenting large scale variations in video sequences. The proposed scheme incorporates measurements from an ensemble of local patch trackers and inter-patch geometric layout to arrive at a sample based approximation of the state posterior. Following this, the...

Layout rules for graphical web documents

The number of companies, institutions, and individuals competing for attention in the World-Wide Web is growing exponentially. This makes designing informative, easy-to-grasp, and visually appealing documents not only important for userfriendly information presentation, but also the key to success for any information provider. In this paper, we present layout guidelines for textual and graphica...

A Declarative Formalism for Specifying Graphical Layout

This paper describes a new approach to specifying graphical layouts of arbitrary objects, which is based on a TEXlike notation. Our simplest scheme offers specifications similar to TEX’s box-and-glue metaphor. Size and position of boxes and glue can be specified by constraints. Advantages of this TEX-like formalism are its expressiveness, user-predictable layouts, and efficient implementation s...

Quadtree and Octree Grid Generation

Engineering analysis often involves the accurate numerical solution of boundary value problems in discrete form. Hierarchical quadtree (or octree) grid generation offers an efficient method for the spatial discretisation of arbitrary-shaped two- (or three-) dimensional domains. It consists of recursive algebraic splitting of sub-domains into quadrants (or cubes), leading to an ordered hierarchi...

Workload Generation for Trace Based Grid Simulations

Testing Grid models and their resource management components is a critical part of efficient Grid development. There are two ways to experimentally assess the performance of Grid models: benchmarking and using synthetic grid workloads. Workload generation for Grids has become more problematic than for independent supercomputers. It requires standardization of the activity of thousand simultaneo...
